Responsibilities:
- The person is expected to lead a team of 2 to 4 test engineers over multiple product test cycles.
- The job responsibilities include planning for a products test cycle. Planning includes creating a test plan, scheduling, equipment needs and team member resource needs.
- This person should also track the progress of the test project through all phases of the test cycle and status management on high priority issues and concerns.
- This person must also conduct a variety of system inter-operability tests with our storage products and various backup applications, operating systems and SAN components during the development and sustaining phases of a product's lifecycle. This will require creating test scripts or procedures, performing individual tests, collecting test data and if necessary capturing supporting information in the event of a test failure.
Qualifications:
- Evidence of personal and professional energy and excellence
- Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 7-10 years related test and/or systems integration experience
- Strong skills with Windows and UNIX (Linux, Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX)
- Experience with backup applications such as Symantec BackupExec, Symantec NetBackup, EMC NetWorker, and CommVault Galaxy
- Superior technical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong technical written and verbal communication skills both internal and external to the company
- Must be highly motivated and able to participate as part of a team as well as on their own
Preferred:
- Experience interfacing with storage peripheral products (i.e. tape drives, disk arrays, storage appliances)
- Experience with storage and/or management protocols (SCSI, FC, SNMP, SMI-S)
- Experience with Network and FC SAN devices (IP Switches, FC HBAs, FC Switches)
- Scripting experience with Perl and/or Visual Basic
