Disk Products Technical Trainer Job

Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical training on Quantum's DXi products and related technology to Quantum's employees, service partners and customers. Classes are primarily held in the Englewood Colorado Training Center, but occasional onsite, customized delivery may be required.
- Maintain lab equipment and network environment.
- Partner with the Content Development team to review new content and provide feedback on what does or doesn't work in the classroom.
- Build relationships with the service team to gain a full understanding of the issues they face in the field.
- Ensure class room and all equipment is ready for students prior to each class.
Qualifications:
- Direct experience in Storage industry and disk products (3 years minimum)
- Strong technical background relating to disk as VTL
- Expertise with LSI and Infortrand arrays a plus
- Experience in SAN/Fibre Channel deployments, infrastructure (2 years minimum preferred)
- Strong UNIX experience (networking and log reading): including Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, IRIX
- Extensive Linux experience
- Experience with Window Domain (Active Directory/Workgroup)
- Back up application experience a plus: including VERITAS, Legato, CA, IBM
- Experience delivering adult education in a stuctured environment
- Bachelor Degree required in Engineering, Computer Science, or relate Science programs
- Additional industry accreditation a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office tools: Excel, Work, Project, PowerPoint, Access
- Experience with Quantum's DXi products a plus
- Overall knowledge of the DXi architecture (data flow)
- Deduplication and how it works
- Replication – understanding the differences between the three types
- Space Reclamation – explain how the process works and the impact it has on the system
- Path-to-Tape – the differences between the two features and how to configure and deploy.
- Linux file structure – identify OS level commands and Application (DXi) commands and where they reside
